Cricket coach and National Spirit
News of BCCI deciding Gary Kiersten as Indian coach is taking rounds on media circles. This white skin fixation of Indian cricket is pathetic. After reading his musings in 1996 tour diary.. i really feel terrible... its quite sad that we have to bring people with such derogatory outlook about our country and the sport and get coached our national team.. Please don't feel once again taking up the oft beaten track of "the need for an Indian Coach". What's wrong in handing over the mantle to the kinds of Sandeep Patil, Robin Singh, Roger Binny, Anshuman Gakewad etc.. who have well proven their credentials in previous exposures... Morevoer they are good at fitness front and man management skills too... the only need is for providing them a freedom to run their regime. Hope wisdom prevails.. Cricket, may be another sport, but it's influence among Indian society is quite phenomenal.

Gujrat - the pain the linger
While the expose of Tehelka sank without a trace, as Congress and Left shown more hurry than the sangh parivar to shove it under carpet.. the deep scars that it had created in many a lives bound to linger. One of the bloodiest pogroms in the history of independent India, brought not even a single culprit to the altar of justice. It's a shame (not withstanding the crocodile tears of hypocrites and opportunities in moderate and secular garbs) to Hindu culture, perhaps the only relgious entity that would tolerate pluralistic society, to let free such demons and barbarians in two legs...

while dust refuse to settle after the so called "matrydom" of Saddam Hussein... leaving aftershocks in the subcontinent who in no way have hardly any hand in the act, other than being passive towards the judgement defies logic... some thoughts linger as sidelights of the drama enacted... The main accusal of the so called ideology driven secularists the filled the news paper columns and news rooms was about india's thankless attitude towards the dictator who was supportive to indian's cause at international arena.. so was mr.najibbullah..saddam atleast got a chance - even it can be poohpoohed as farce, for trial... what happened to najibullah? isn't the his mutilated body hanging on a roadside pole in kabul was more heartbreaking than the "royal retreat" of saddam.. Wasn't he a better friend of india than anyone else?
While accusing US on Saddam's fate, one would also think...Didn't they got a better chance to eliminate saddam, when the petrified dictator was taken out from the bunker with folded hands? and why should US wait to make him stronger or even more dignified..
Though one feel the dictator got the end that he deserves... the saddened aspect is that why these kind of verdicts only happen to Asians or Africans.. not to richard nixons, tony blairs and bushes (Jr and Sr)...

the calculator world
recently i happened to have an overnight journey by bus... a midnight bus transfer upset my peaceful sleep... and having nothing to do to get back the lost sleep i happened to listen a couple of techie brats engaged in privat con... (due apologies)... they got my attention, when one told asked other guy about the news that he heard of the suicide attempt of his girl friend... the casual response that followed up was quite shocking... "yeah... i left the relationship... when i knew that she had two sisters... man i cant get into a trouble... taking the responsibility of a family which already burdoned with three girls..." i just tempted to ask... "then what about the relationship that you have entered??"... but restrained myself and let the reality sink in... welcome to the calculator world.. the world of profit... where there is no space for loosers... you must shall profit from every transaction... every relationship.... every second... and it's only the green count that matters... wheater it is a blood relationship... or friendship... or association of any sort.. the measure is what you have made out of it... badly need to readjust... badly need to tune up to live in this world...

Innocence personified - Saddam Hussein
How can you racist white skinned yankee hang an innocent Saddam Hussein... the man of peace... the champion of equality... the messihah of down trodden... Yeah It's true that he attacked and tried to annexe Kuwait killing thousands... but that was just an expression of Islamic brotherhood.... It may be true that he killed thousands of Shiates...... and tortured millions... but that is just the expression of Islamic pride... Butchering son-in-laws is a legitimate right of any father in law... any questions?? And it's natural for a true leader to resort to iron hand tactics to supress whatever uprising.. even at the cost of killing many... You white man... how can you hang our Saddam Hussein... the blood brother of Indian downtrodden....
In Pakistan you can bomb Madrassas and get away
Imagine a stone being thrown to a Madrassa campus in any remote Indian village... the whole country will burn... champions of human rights - shabana azmi's and arundhati roys of the world will shed crocodile tears..... vinod mehtas and tarun tejpals will spit venom in their national toilet papers... but when pakistani gunships bombed over a madrassa and tuned it into a cemetry killing 80 (as per their body count)... nothing happened... nobody is pained... no Islamic sentiments were hurt.. everything calm... quiet, prim and proprah...

Why communal riots happen?
It's cliched but true... Lack of sensible handling is just the sole cause of repeated occurance of communal riots in this country.. When the institution acts with political consideration, these are the results.. Most of the culprits of communal carnages are going unpunished... Anti-Sikh riots, Gujrath, Mumbai, Bheevandi, Maarad, Mangalore, Malegaon... the list goes endless.. only if the establishment acts without looking at the face, the communal brigades will stop erupting with mass hysteria... No one with some sense will jump into the act, if the fear of proper punishment would appear in his mind... Mindless authorities exploit every riot for political benefits... to encash the sensitivities of poor... Time and again, their acts encourage anti-social elements to comit crimes in disguise of communal passion... secularism should be practised.. not just preached... and secularism is not appeasement... it's the demonstration and practice of equdistance from every relegion and faith...

Do we have any right to criticize North Korea?
This is a valid question... while some of the biggest rouge nations have piles of deadly nukes.. how can we deprive North Korea, the right of having one? If we have the right to make nukes... even Korea can... There is no bigger threat than the biggest arsenal of nukes lying with the only nation who have ever used a nuclear weapon against someone else... The only solution is disarm everyone without discretion... otherwise nobody will have any legitimate right to prevent another nation from occupying one...
But when a government try to appease, uncle sam at any cost even by bending backwards without appointing a defence minister, it is mandatory to go with big bully's diktat... But one thing is sure pyong yang will never be a Bagdad or Kabul for him to get on with his bully act... A nuke can smoke his courtyard...

a nation of impotents
Two days past the blasts, the so called national media can't stop singing praises on the resilient Mumbaiker, who keeps continuing with his daily chores, as if nothing had happened. Have you ever had a close look on those faces shown in the television. It's just fear, and helplessness.. not courage and resiliance ... The fear originating from the realisation that the establishment is busy with appeasment and sheltering of terrorists... and they dont care what may happen to the common man... The helplessness of the commonman derived out of the feeling on witnessing the truth unfolding right infront.... and yet couldn't take any action.. It's even more appaling to hear the "progressive" and "secular" Shabana Azmis and Javed Akthar's praises showered over the patient Mumbaiker...Welcome to the nation of impotents... who just have suffered enough to feel shocked even hearing the news of apocalypse...
